In 2002, the Korea Institute of Toxicology (KIT) was founded as a global toxicity research institute for the nation’s health and to make a more safe society. The KIT conducts toxicology research with its top-class researchers and infrastructure. The KIT has established the KIT School in order to cultivate talented individuals who can contribute to the development of national industry and enhance national health by researching into and supporting safety assessment on chemicals and bio-based materials. The KIT school is currently providing master’s, doctoral and integrated courses. The KIT school conducts research in all fields of toxicology. Daejeon HQ conducts advanced toxicity research, predictive toxicity research, alternative toxicity research, and drug toxicity research. Jeonbuk Department researches primates models, minipig models and inhalation toxicity. Lastly, Gyeongnam Department is focused on environmental toxicity research. The UST-KIT Campus is cultivating toxicity experts through the various research fields of the departments
