Established in 1973, the Korea Research Institute of Ships & Ocean Engineering (KRISO) has continuously conducted R&D in the fields of shipbuilding and offshore facility production, contributing to the development of the shipbuilding and maritime industry in South Korea. Reborn in 2014 as an institution affiliated with the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology, KRISO strives to conduct R&D in the field of maritime engineering to better exploit the untapped value of the sea and produce technologies relevant to the Fourth Industrial Revolution. KRISO will continue working to become a research institute that leads the development of the maritime industry not only in South Korea but also around the world.
