Major in advanced materials and device engineering aims to understand the structure and properties of various materials, optimize physical and chemical properties, develop components using them, understand the characteristics of manufacturing equipment, and apply them to the manufacture of devices. Also, this major includes the structures and principles of various devices and deals with developing new devices. In particular, it is expected to contribute to the future of the country by cultivating specialists in materials and devices through this major in a situation where the infrastructure of materials, components, and equipment in Korea is lacking and there is a shortage of professionals in recent years. Main fields in this major are researching semiconductors, secondary batteries, displays, solar cells, smart windows, and optical sensors, which will not only lead the industry in Korea at present, but also become more important in the future, research materials and devices related to them, and nurture talents.
