It emphasizes the basic principles of typical biochemical techniques that are used to study important macromolecules such as proteins and nucleic acids. Advanced Biochemistry has a special focus on an interdisciplinary overview of molecular biology, chemical principles and cell biology (e.g., how cells work at molecular level), and their applications to modern topics of biochemical, biomedical and biological interest. Together with the related field of molecular biology, biochemistry provides important advances in understanding the molecular basis of life, and how alteration or disruption of these molecular pathways leads to disease processes.

- 세포 내의 다양한 기능을 알기 위해서는 세포를 구성하는 생체 물질들(단백질, 핵산, 세포 내 소기관 등)의 구조 연구가 뒷받침 되어야 한다. 본 강의에서는 단백질 및 핵산 (RNA 및 DNA) 에 대한 NMR 구조 분석법 및 전자현미경 분석법을 소개하고, 더 나아가 세포를 분석하는 현미경에 대해 소개하고자 한다. 생명과학에서 사용되는 NMR의 기본 개념, Highfield NMR 장비 이론 및 사용법, 단백질 및 핵산의 구조 분석에 대한 다양한 활용 사례를 소개한다. 또한 형광 분석을 포함하는 현미경에 대한 기본 이론 및 전자현미경을 이용한 세포의 구조 분석법을 소개한다. 본 과목에서는 다음 내용을 다룬다.

requires strictly limited environment such as high vacuum, intensive photon/electron dose, etc.
